deleting programs

I installed a program called limewire and it worked for 2 days and then it
just started not showing up. I have tried deleting it several times but it
won't let me. It says it may still be running but I don't see how

There is a difference between deleting and uninstalling.

From the Start menu, try Control Panel | Add_or_Remove_Programs, then select
Limewire from the list and press the button to remove it.
 
"I have tried deleting it several times", how? Did you just try to
Delete or Uninstalling, there's a lot of difference. If it won't let you
uninstall it, it is probably due to it being loaded at Startup. You can
uninstall it using Safe Mode. Then edit the Registry for deleting all
entries of LimeWire. Start>Run>type REGEDIT>press OK

I am having the same problem - and have tried this option - but
although I can see Limewire when I use explore - I cant find it when
I look at the list in Control Panel - any advice appreciated.
