follow up microsoft.public.outlook.contacts

Hi,
I deleted a bunch of contact folders I had created but they still show up as
valid paths if I click to To: in an email message and try to select a
contacts folder on the "Show Names From:" on the right side of the pop up
menu.
How can I permanently delete these useless paths so they they do not appear?

Tools, email accounts, view/modify address books, properties of outlook
address book....modify as you wish to remove the other contact folders.
(this is from memory, but it's close enough).

Remove the Outlook Address Book, then restart Outlook and add it back in.

Sue,
I just don't understand, sorry.
Remove from where and how?
Right now, I have a main Contacts folder--and 6 sub-folders--for example,
Business, Friends, etc.
The folders I had created and then deleted were some those sub-folders.
I can't remove the main "Contacts" folder that has valuable info in it--but
I probably didn't understand your instructions.
More details?

S

That works...!

Remove them as valid contact folders under Tools->Email Accounts.

open Outlook TOOLS | E-MAIL ACCOUNTS | "View or change existing directiories
or address books | NEXT | CHANGE
There you can delete the unused contact folders

Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change existing directories or address
books>Next. Select Outlook Address Book. Click Change. Select the bogus
address book and click Remove Address Book. Click Close, then Finish.
