I have been using outlook 2000 for a number of years
now. How do I delete a previous year's events? I synch
outlook with my pda and I really don't need anything from
the years 2002 and earlier to synch with it. IS there
any way I can delete those unwanted years?

Two ways to do it:

1) Use the Archive command on the File menu to delete items based on a
certain date. Note that Outlook will use the Modified date property for
each item to determine whether it fits the archive criteria, so if an
appointment from October 2002 was modified in 2003, it will not be archived
with the items from 2002. Also, recurring appointments/events will not
archive unless ALL occurrences are in the past.

2) Switch your view of the Calendar folder to a table view, add some Date
columns if they aren't already showing (use the Field Chooser to add these
columns), then sort by your preferred date column and delete all items
matching your criteria.
