I got this laptop with XP recently, and it has a small
partition. I can't get rid of it because it has a "paging
file". It is also the "logical drive". Ultimately I
would like to get rid of the partition altogether.

This is most likely a recovery partition placed there by the manufacturer
for recovering from a disaster. Best to leave it alone unless it is causing
problems.

The only way to delete a partition in service is to boot to xp cd,
repair, press enter key for password,at the screen type:DiskPart
The options to delete become available, however if its a 8mb partition
youre seeing,it might not let you,its a xp partition that is required.
