Deleting/Moving Offline Files

Hi,

I have a mobile user who is getting very annoyed that he can't organise his
'My Documents' folder, because it is synchronised with his home drive on the
server. I've told him that it's not possible to delete or move offline files
unless he's in the office, and connected, so the changes can be synchronsed.

Can I just confirm that this is correct? If so, does anyone have any
suggestions for getting around his problem (beyond beating the user with his
own laptop :-)?

Regards

Ben

I think it's more likely that "My Documents" has been adjusted to point to a
location on the server. Right-click and select 'properties' to see where My
Documents is actiually located.

Sucha a setup is ideal for fixed desktop users but not so handy for laptops.

Hi Ian,

Yes this is how we configured My Documents through group policy. We have the
users Home drive set to H: then via GP we redirect the My Documents folder
to their home drive, which is then made availble offline.

Is there a better way of doing this, while still keeping My Documents
synchronised with the server for backup?

Regards

Ben

Ben,
