There is just one e-mail in my inbox that i cannot delete, every time i go to
get rid of it it says there is an "Unknown Error" I tried reading some of the
other posts on the same problem and i just can't seem to get it. Is there
just a simple fix to this?

Jeff,

I and several other people have had the same problem. Go to

www.oehelp.com/wmutil

and download Steve's utility to your desktop per his instructions. Then use
the utility, after unzipping, and compact your e-mail and the problem will
go away. It did for me and hopefully will for you. Also in the future,
compact your e-mail every time the dialog box appears asking if you want to
compact your e-mail.

Good luck and let me know what happens.

Have you tried File - Work Offline, then delete the file if you are in
Windows Mail.. the same applies to MS Outlook too..

Dick, you have been told repeatedly that WMUtil does not help
with messages stuck in the Inbox. Please cease and desist with
the bad advice.

If you are not willing to just ignore them, the only way is to delete both
copies of the database (which does not contain the messages, but only
references to them) and let WinMail rebuild it.
First close WinMail, then use Task Manager to make sure there are no
instances of it under applications or processes.
Then click Start | Search | Advanced Search
Check the box to include non-indexed, hidden and system files.
In the Name field type WindowsMail.MSMessageStore and click the Search
button.
It should show you two copies. Delete both of them and re-open WinMail.
