Does someone know which files can i delete from a vista installation and
still make it supportable by MS ?

There are alot of Sound\Movie Files in the default vista installation as
well as TMP Files and stuff...

Or.

This would depend on which files you are talking about? Everyone uses their
systems for different reasons and to run many different programs.

Generally, TMP files are safe to delete as well as files that are placed in
Temp folders, regardless of where they are located. If a file with a .tmp
extension or a file in a temp folder is being used, then you will get an
error message about it being in use and not be able to delete it.

Movie and sound files are usually not required to make the system run,
although some of these may be associated with Help files. If you are talking
about the Sample movie files, these can be safely deleted. The same goes for
sound files, if your sure you will not need these, go ahead and delete them.

Just to be safe, I would backup any files that your not sure about to some
form of removeable media before deleting.

If you are going to do this just to recover hard disk space, a better
strategy might be to move to a larger hard drive.

OK, if you are making a backup image of the OS, one of the best things you
can do is get rid of all the built-in backup files like System Restore
points, which can use many GB of disk space. You can run the Desktop Cleanup
wizard to get rid of a lot of these redundant files. This will delete all
temp files and even all SR points, except the most recent SR point. You can
then turn system restore off and then back on to get rid of the restore
point that is left.
