Deleting items via control panel

When I try to delete an item via the add/delete hardsware in control panel I
get the message cannot find install.log. I have tried re-installing the
application and then deleting it via control panel but the original item is
still there. How do I get rid of this?

See Kelly's site:

Click on "A" and scroll to:
Add and Remove -Removing Invalid Entries in the Add/Remove Programs Tool

The link that Rock gave you is to MVP Kelly Theriot's website where
there are fixes, tweaks, etc. and the particular webpage Rock pointed
you to has the Alphabet running across the top of the page. Click on
the "A" which will link you to the webpage covering problems starting
with the letter "A". Then scroll down to the Add/Remove Programs
section.

Unfortunately when I run regedit the regedit box comes up then disappears.
It does not stay open so I cannot follow the instructions - is there another
way or is there a way to keep the regedit open?

You don't need to have the registry editor open when you are merging
Kelly's .reg files or running her .vbs scripts. If you do Run>regedit
[enter] and nothing happens, then you have more issues on this computer
than have been addressed in any of your posts.

Make sure your computer is 100% virus/malware-free:

If you are having difficulties following instructions from Kelly's or my
sites, consider taking the computer to a professional computer repair
shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA) for diagnosis/fixing.
There is no shame in doing this; we all have our areas of expertise.

As Malke said you don't need regedit running to use the regedit. That
there is a problem with regedit, though, suggests some sort of malware.
Look at the link Malke gave for instructions on cleaning the system.
