I have gone from ME to XP and have IE 6. I now notice that when I "delete
history" and temporary internet files that sometimes it deletes history and
sometimes it does nothing. Can anyone help me?
Thanks.

Deleting History ususlly just deletes the sites you have visited.
How have you been doing it ?

Open Internet Explorer | Tools | Internet Options | General tab | Click
Clear History button | Answer Yes

Clear History button
[[Empties the History folder. This folder stores shortcuts to the pages you
viewed during this and previous browsing sessions.]]

That is how I have been doing it and this is what has me puzzled. It worked
100% of the time with ME, but now with XP.....sometimes it clears the
history and sometimes it doesn't. The message box acts like it's deleting
but when I go back and check the history pane, all the sites are still
listed. Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

H.B.,

Beats me. You can try these...

Set History to zero...
IE | Tools | Internet Options | General tab | Days to keep
pages in history: 0 | Apply | OK.

Try clearing History with IE closed.
Start | Run | Type: inetcpl.cpl | OK | Properties | General tab |Clear
History button

Or right click the Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop | Properties |
General tab |Clear History button

Navigate to >>
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name Here\Local Settings\History
and clear it out manually.
