Deleting files on server.

Hi,

When publishing my site, I used to get a message "File exists on Server, but
not on Local Computer - Do You want to remove it?" after I had deleted a
file from my local computer, when editing my site.

But the trouble is now I delete files and this message never appears, so the
files stay on the server.

I would really want to delete the files that are on the server but not on
the local PC without having to find them all by hand.

Does anyone know how to get this to work again?

I am currently using FP2002 under Windows XP.

I am not sure, but this problem seemed to occur at the same time as
installing Internet Explorer 7.

All the best,
Martin.

Makes sure your publishing options are set to changes only and the unused files are not set to do not publish

Hi,

I have the publishing settings as:-

Publish: Changed pages only.
Changes: Determine changes by comparing source and destination webs.

I have deleted the files, so they cannot be flagged as "do not publish".

Any help appreciated.

All the best,
Martin.

But the one on your server might be marked as do not publish

I have checked the files on the server and none are marked as "Do Not
Publish".

This problem and a few others started when I installed Internet Explorer 7,
could this be a reason, as I have spotted some other posts about FP problems
after IE7 installed?

I have now uninstalled IE7 as I didn't like it. But problem still exists.

Not related to IE 7
Clear all FP web cache before you open FP
- See http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm
Then open each site (local and remote) and run a tools recalculate hyperlinks

You may have to publish all one time to get both in sync
