Hi all,

When I load photos onto my computer using the Scanner and camera wizard the
file name and folder that I save them to remains in the pull down section. Is
there any way to delete this so as to keep my photo locations "hidden"?

Cheers

Yes, you can right click on the folder name and then click on Properties, On
the General tab in the opening window, check the Hidden box.
However, if you want to see this folder again, you will have to go to Tools
on your top bar and Folder options and then on the View tab you will have to
click on Show hidden files and folders. You will then see the folder, but
then you have to go back and check Do not show hidden files and folders to
hide it again.
Obviously this can be done but is a pain.
A better way to hide files is to encrypt them. Search google for file
encryption. Plenty of software to do this. You encrypt the files and decrypt
the files when you want to see them.

Thanks a lot.

That is a good way to hide files but is there anyway to delete the drop down
history of "the name of the group of pictures" and the " place to save this
group of pictures"
as other people use the scanner and camera wizard and I would prefer to keep
the locations secret.

Thanks again for your help

I know what you want to do but since the wizard holds the last 20 documents
and the last 25 browse places all you could do is move the files after
giving them an innocuous name so that anyone clicking on the names in the
history would be taken to a different location than the actual files. I
hope this helps,
Glenda

You could also go to a XP newsgroup like microsoft.public.windowsxp.general
and ask where the wizard's history files are kept and delete them from
there.
