deleting empty spaces

I created a report, in which null fields do not appear.
My problem is that when a field doesn't appear, there is a
blank space on the report where it should be. Is there
any way to delete this space and just carry up all the
text below? I'm pretty new at this, so any suggestions
would be very helpful! Thanks!
 
Look for the Can Grow and Can Shrink properties for these text boxes and set
them to 'Yes'.
 
I have set both the Can Grow and Can Shrink properties to
Yes, and it still leaves the blank line.
 
Borrowing a recent response by Access MVP Larry Linson on this subject, here
are a couple of other things to check:

(1) If there are other Controls in the same line as the one with Can Shrink,
it will not shrink. It must "shrink" all the way across the report page,

(2) A Control that is touching another Control may not Shrink as you would
expect, and

(3) sometimes the CanShrink property of the Section was not set
by default and must be set manually.
