A customer of mine was asking if we could make a script to
delete some directories on systems that we send to him. I
know a batch file can do it nicely, is there a more
preferred way? Second, will deleting any of these
directories cause problems, either in the legal sense or
in the actual running Windows sense?

Here are the directories he wants deleted:

c:\program files\
messanger
movie maker
msn
msn messenger
online"

Thanks in advance,
Aaron

No, you cannot delete XP's system files or directories. If you're
running XP Pro, you can use GPEDIT to limit access to programs.

Thank you for the quick response. Is it a legal issue
then, or would deleting some of those cause Windows to not
work properly?

No it's not a legal issue.....those programs simply cannot be
removed from XP or you'll cause corruption. They were not
designed to be removed.
