click on the contact I want to delete and the "delete"
selection is not available.

Thanks.

Got it. Thanks.

However, one contact has been deceased for about 1 1/2
years and the MSN e-mail address is invalid.

Greetings Frank,

The Delete option that you refer to will only become
available if that particular contact
removes you off their main contact list. Until they do,
you will not be able to remove them.

Hi Frank,

Sorry to hear that. MSN e-mail addresses although they may expire on the MSN side of things
(e-mail, etc.), the Passports still remain, and so do the Messenger contact lists, as such,
there isn't really much you can do.

Hi Sam,

Yes, it's true for anything that connects to the .NET Messenger network. Even if you were to
get a client that "tried" to delete it, the contact would simply "come back" on the reverse
list (the "user has just added" window).

There seems to be a problem with the Misrosoft end of it.
I have been unable to remove them completely at all. I
delete them from contacts list, but set up a new system
and install messenger and poof they show up on that list
as well. Is there any way of removing them all togather
from the cache on the Microsoft server that hoplds them.

Even gone as far as to get a new IM handle. One that i got
had 30 people already there that I never knew!! This seems
to be a major problem.
