deleting avast

As Ubuntista has said try re-installing the software. You should then be
presented with the option to either re-install, repair or remove. Just
select the remove option.

While I agree with Ubuntista that Avast is good I much prefer AVG because it
has a more user friendly interface.

Just curious as to why you're uninstalling it. It seems to work very well for me.
It also scares the bejesus out of my wife every time it says, "Virus database has
been updated" while she's using the computer. That alone is worth the
price of admission! 8^)

Be sure to turn up the speakers before she gets near the computer next
time for even more fun.
