Deleting Assign Categories

With each email that comes in I am asked to assign a color category. I haven
no need for this feature. I use folders and that is enough. How can I turn
this off so I can close and email and move on. This especially annoying when
deleting spam files I still get more than enough of.

Outlook itself doesn't do that, so an Addin should be responsible for that.
For instance, Category Manager offers that feature. There you can turn it
off via Tools/Options.

Mike,

Thanks for the reply I see no "Category Manager" . I went to Category and
there is no Tools or Options. Do you have a tutorial that will show how it
works?

If you don't have Category Manager installed, there must be any other
software doing the trick. You can click Tools/Trust Center/Addins, and see
what Addins are installed.

Mike,

I found the CM in VBOffice. Again I just want to stop the pop up to assign
and email a category. I only use categories for Contacts and that is it so
far. Can I stop this one feature? If so I couldn't figure out from the file
what to click or where to go so I could click a button to stop it. Your
thoughts...

I'm sorry, it looks like I can't explain that very well.

CM was just an example. If you didn't have installed it yet, it couldn't be
the reason for what you see. And all I can say is that Outlook itself
doesn't ask you to categorize an item. So, if not CM is the cause, and
Outlook for sure isn't it either, it's now up to you to look for what tools
you have installed.

Maybe I am not clear. After I read an email it asks this question. I hope
this helps and if not how could I find how this is happening? Do you do
screen sharing?
