In FrontPage 2000, under Windows98SE, when I select "Open Web" I've got a few saved webs
(Internet) that are no longer used.

How do I *completely* delete info & data on accessing these inactive webs???

Many Thanks!

Bill.

I should think that frrom that "Open Web" dialogue, you can select the web
you want to delete and press DEL.

with web opened: select the root and; edit | delete

But, will that delete the saved web information, including registry entries, or will it
only delete the FP "pointer" to it?

I'm not sure, but you are given two choices when you click on Delete...one
deletes everything, the other removes only FP info - this is on your local
machine...not sure what effect this has if you do it 'live' on the server.

Rob, your post gave me an idea - I went into Web Folders from Windows Explorer and
deleted the web from there - so now, the info is not only gone from FP, but from the
registry as well.

Thanks for the help, hope this helps!

Dear Bill,
The problem is a little bigger than deleting a folder, you are correct.
There is a real possibility of having some nasty relic of the subweb's FP
server extensions remain. Here is the best way to avoid those issues.

In FrontPage, click Tools... Server... Administration Home... (it takes you
to http://yoursitename.com/_vti_bin/_vti_adm/fpadmdll.dll - and log-in with
your NT credentials), and at the bottom of the administration page, find the
Subwebs section, which reads, "The links below take you to administration
pages where you can create, merge, or delete a subweb, or manage subweb
settings. The following subwebs have been created for:
"http://yoursitename.com". To view the administration page for a particular
subweb, click the subweb name. To view the home page for the subweb, click
the URL."

Before continuing on this page, close FrontPage completely. Note the 3
links: Create a subweb - Merge a subweb - Delete a subweb. Choose Delete a
subweb; select the subweb to delete in the Web Name box. All content in the
subweb will be deleted, including any nested subwebs. Click the Delete Subweb
button.
Before leaving this page, return to the Administration Home, and click both
links regarding Server Health - Check server health & Recalculate the Web -
when you are finished, close the page and restart FrontPage. Good luck, Bill.

This isn't exactly what I needed for this situation but WOW - what a fascinating and
useful page! Thanks so much for the tip!!!
