Deleting an Active Desktop Item

XP-SP2. IE6.

Can anyone help me delete an Active Item from my Active Desktop?

My main problem is that IE6 locks up when trying to Synchronize this Active
Web Page.

However, when I try to delete the web page from Desktop Items, All pages
disappear and everything locks up (due to a rundll32.exe task that is using
all the CPU). When I kill this process, I find that the pages were not
deleted.

There must be another approach to deleting the Desktop Items.

Thanks.
Bruce

Hi,
Have you tried deleting it from safe mode?

Hope this helps,

Use this REG file.

Thanks Ramesh. Before I install this can you tell me what to expect?
Is this a fix for an existing XP problem?

Bruce

Bruce,

That REG file is another approach to deleting the Desktop Items. Applying
that fix will remove all the Web items, expect the "My current homepage"
entry.

To view the REG contents, open it using Notepad.
