Two questions.
First, I used to share my computer with my girlfriend until she got her own.
Now I want to delete her profile from my computer. I have followed the
procedure recommended in the "help and support section" in XP but all I have
managed to do is delete her files (which I didn't intend to do) but her name
still appears on the computer as a user. So I did the opposite of what I
intended.
My first question is not how can I recover her files, though this would be
handy (but she does have backups) but how can I delete her name from the user
page that I get to after starting up the computer..
This brings me to my second question, since I am only the only user, why
should I have any specially designated "user" at all. By this I mean, why
can't I just log straight in to the desktop instead of going to the user page
after start up, and then having to click my name to get to the desktop. I am
wary of simply deleting myself as user because this will delete my files as
well (if my experience above is anything to go by).
thanks in advance for any help.
