Hello there!
Right clicking the recycle bin it shows a menu with tasks
to do, a "scan with ... antivirus" option is also
displayed. Well, this is my old antivirus software which I
(I thought)uninstalled long long time ago from my system.
When I run Services.msc , the service for this
uninstalled antivirus is still displayed there. The
question is, how can I do to have this program and its
service fully disabled?

Thanks in advance.
Mac

Hi Mac,

Try reinstalling the old software. Than use the uninstall feature to get
rid of it.

It is possible that this service is needed by another program and / or it
may be doing no harm. In any event you may be playing with fire.

Good Luck
Richard

Thanks Richard

I have a similar situation with MySQL ... I want to either
get rid of the current entry in Services or edit the path to
the executable. There must be a way to do this. Anyone know how?

I was able to muck about in the registry and got the path
edited. It seems to be working OK now, but it still would be
nice to know how to delete an entry in Services.
