I am also experiencing difficulty at removing a program
called Interstital program by in-case. I believe this is
some type of ad ware program, and can not remove through
the change and remove programs, stating I must be connected
to the internet in order to do so. I have been connected
to the internet and still can not remove the program. Can
you please help me delete this program?
Amy
I searched 'Interstital' on my C:\ drive and found nothing.
Did same on Google and wound up on a page of links that
dealt with Interstital Lung Disease in Children. That
didn't seem to apply so I went to the Computer Cops site
and searched their forums and got no hits at all. This is
encouraging - either you have something that's so new that
it hasn't reached anyone's attention yet, or it's
relatively harmless, or your computer has lung disease.
Searched Google for 'in case' and found a nice site that
sells cases for portable computers, ipods and etc.
(Nothing in their product line was named Interstital).
Find 'Ad-Aware' and 'Spybot' on Google. Both donationware.
Update and use both a couple of times a week. If they
don't find anything and your own anti-virus program
(updated) doesn't find anything then all you probably have
is a hard to remove program - although the part about not
being able to remove it unless you're on the Internet
sounds . . odd. ????
You say you're 'also experiencing difficulty' so if the
following questions are covered in an earlier post just
supply the date/time/subject so I can find it.
The program doesn't seem to come with XP Home so where did
it come from (i.e., did you install this program)? What
does it do/is it supposed to do? Why do you want to remove
it? When you try to uninstall via Control Panel/Add or
Remove Programs what does the message box say when it
refuses to uninstall?
