Deleting a corrupt folder

Hello,

I am trying to delete an empty folder from my hard drive that, apparently,
has become corrupted. When I click to delete, I get the error message:

"Cannot delete Data9: Access is denied.

Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not
currently in use."

None of this makes sense to me. The "file" is simply an empty folder
sitting on my hard drive and, obviously, is not in use.

This is driving me crazy. Rebooting did not help. I'd be very appreciative
if anyone out there could help me out.

Thanks in advance,
Rich

Try and live with this for a while - it is True.
It simply means that there is now another thing
you do not understand - it means that and
nothing else.

...............and, obviously, is not in use.
If you have managed to live with not understanding,
then maybe this is not so obvious - in fact it might
become 'obvious' that it may well be in use.

Try http://www.sysinternals.com/ and you will find a
number of Very Good and Free utilities for Windows.

I suggest you download FileMon v6.07 and run it -
it will show you the 'Open Files' on your System and
the processes that have them 'Open'.

Approach this with Hunility and Tranquility, and you
conquer, not only the Folder, but yourself.

I've had this same problem only with files and have not
received any response that works.

I tried the FILEMON suggestion. As soon as I simply
clicked on the offending file with the mouse, the first
FILEMON entry was an OPEN Request with an ACCESS DENIED
Result.

This is a problem with the NTFS implementation. I have
FULL Administrative authority.
