How long has Vista been out now. Is Microsoft oblivious to the problem of
not being able to delete mail from Windows Mail.

It's about time that Microsoft writes a patch to correct the problem.

Hello Jerry, Hey I have just started having trouble deleting mail from the
mail program. Have you been able to figure it out and get it to delete. I am
getting full of old mail? Hope you can help.
Thanks ,

From what I see, it has been an on going problem for a while. I never had a
problem even when XP Outlook Express was updated, but once I got my new Dell
Computer several weeks ago, with Vista Premium, I started having problems
deleting mail, immediatley.

If you read some of the other E-Mails, it looks like this is an issue.

If you look at some of the other E-Mails from February, Microsoft made a
suggestion in fixing the problem, but I think that we should not have to
spend our time trying to tweek our systems.

I am sure Microsoft is monotoring this discussion group and will respond

I Rx'd an email that I was unable to delete for the first time today; visited
this site and found no solution. I created a new folder within mail moved the
un-deletable mail and then deleted the folder. It worked for me hope it works
for you. My first time in online discussions. I run windows vista premium.

Here is what I ended up doing

Create a new user name.
Open Windows mail under new user name
Import Messages from \Users\(your user)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows
Mail\Local Folder.

Went back to original user name and went to the \Users\(your
user)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail folder and deleted everything out.

Went back into the Mail program on existing old user name and imported
messages back from other user name.

reset server settings and 'ghost' emails were gone.
