By design docs are deleted when you delete a profile BUT
you shouldn't be allowed to delete the profile you signed
onto the computer --it is in use. However, I was allowed
to delete an anonomous user (me) and my docs are gone.
Anyone know if there is a recovery?

Hi Lavelle -

You might still be abel to decover some (or all) of the files it they
haven't yet been overwritten by other activity on the disk.

First . . . avoid do anything on your computer that would cause
anything to be written to the disk where the files used to reside.

Second, go to http://www.undelete.com/downloads/menu.asp and look for
the Deleted File Analysis Utility download. Get this utility --
preferably download it from another computer and copy it onto a floppy
disk, to avoid writing to the disk where the deleted files were.

Third, run the Deleted File Analysis Utility to see if the file can be
recovered. If the utility comes up with positive results, you can
recover the files with Undelete from Executive Software (available at
www.undelete.com).

I hope this helps -

In addition to the other post - don't store items in the defalt profile
directory. Too many bad things can happen. Create a folder somewhere else
(either on the local hard drive, or on the server if you have one) and
redirect My Documents to point there.
