Deleted User/Admin Account

I accidentally deleted my main USER name (also an
Administrator) in XP. My files are still in C:\documents
and Settings but they will not copy over to the same name
that I recreated. I get a message that the settings
cannot copy over to the new name and a Guest account is
setup without the former Documents and settings. How can
I restore my documents and Settings to a new user name?

This is because the ACL on the folder will not allow the new user access to the files, easy to fix, right click the folder, selcect sharing and security then security, advanced, owner click Administrators (the group of users) then click replace on all files and folder click apply, this will then take ownership of the folder, now select permisions, add add your username select Allow full control, select replace on all files/folders, then ok then ok and you should now be good to go.

If you dont see the Sharing and Security option on the right click of the folder, then click Tools / Folder options / View / disable the enable easy filesharing security then select ok and it should now be there.
