After scanning and deleting massively (win98se) there is now a restart
problem in Normal mode.

Safe mode runs smothe just as interactive mode.

Need to know what to fix. (Lots of seriousd stuff installed and do not whant
to format all)

Logg start and use untill "lock-up"? How?
Scan for system glitch /faults? How?
Just repair the system? How?

Please advise method and software to download!

Have you tried MSCONFIG to disable startup programs etc.?
Start / Run / type the word "msconfig" without the quotes.
Use "Selective startup" and uncheck everything. Use TAB "Startup" and make a
note of everything checked. Uncheck everything and see if you can boot to normal
mode. If so start enabling things until you discover what is preventing you from
loading Windows. (lots of reboots)
When you "massively deleted" stuff... did that stuff go into your recycle bin?
If so you can undelete it all and start over trying to remove bad things.
Before you do too much more you should backup all your important data. I read
your other posts and sounds like your computer is in bad shape. Keep in mind
when you backup you could be copying virus etc to the backup media. So if / when
you restore the data it's very important your computer is clean and running an
up to date anti-virus app.
If you have your Win98SE cdrom you can try a "repair". If you do that you may
have to do a lot of Win updates again.
If you have an "always on" internet connection... disable it while your cleaning
house. Pull the plug.
Good luck.

There are no starnge things in the Config.sys as I understand (?)

So, the idea is to see a little more "inside" what happens.

There are some things I could try with different alternatives there though.
I will consider repair OS option too...

Without knowing what was removed...
Reinstall the Win98SE OS and all subsequent patches.

Are there any error messages when Windows starts?

Did you even try to use MSCONFIG? I didn't say Config.sys. To see and understand
more about what is happening "inside" your computer you'll need 4 years to get
your degree in computer science and 4 more years of on the job experience. You
need to attack your problem by carefully examining the symptoms and if your
current biggest problem is the computer will not boot to Windows you need to
find out what is missing or what file when being loaded is causing the computer
to STOP. If it boots fine to SAFE mode but not normal mode there is some driver
or something trying to load that won't. You need to use a very systematic and
trial and error method to attempt to find out what and why that is happening.
Are the files you deleted still in your recycle bin? Did you browse around and
delete entire folders? You haven't been very specific describing your exact
problem. What is the nature of "restart problem in Normal mode".

....and config sys is one of the parts reachable from there ... at least it
is there when I run MSCONFIG

about my thought too...

No no... most likely it was some suspected file that had som meaning to
it...
If not some driver version has changed during all start and stop, scanning
etc.
You haven't been very specific describing your exact
problem.

No, that is because the symptom has changed slightly as I tried to solve it.
First MotherBoardManager froze (start at win boot) .... When I deleted the
MBM the problem seemed to occur later on in the boot. Now I start close to
"safe mode" MSCONFIG basicly everything left Off... Don't know if that took
totally action though.

In this mode it runs fairly stable. Video @ 600x ...... and colors from the
stone age.

The fault is somwhat ambigous since it changed from one boot to the next.
That's why I dreamed about some kind of logg that could give some hints to
clearify whats the prob.

Unfortunately (stupid enough) there was some (driver?) instability allready
before wich made the OS start only 50%... This naturally complicate things.

Sometimes the best course of action is to back-up your important data
files and just bite the bullet; reformat and reinstall.
