I am writing a book and accidently hit 'control A' and then saved the
document thus loosing everything. is there a way to send the computer
back to yesterday and the earlier version of the document?
Undo doesn't work and there is only this version of the document.
before you rush to tell me what an idiot I am I should point out that I
am 11 years old and this book kind of started out as a bit of fun and
grew. My father is a MAC user and and cannot help apart from giving
sympathy. Please help.

You *may* be able to get at least some of it back by using an undelete
utility such as File Recovery 3, or a disc sector editor, but you must stop
using your PC *NOW* if there is to be any hope of recovering the file.
Everything you have done since making making the error has the potential to
overwrite some of the disc space that the deleted file was using. File
recovery applications should be run from floppy, so get your father or a
better still a friend with a PC to find the downloads and to write the
floppy. You may also wish to consider professional file recovery services,
but these would make a big hole in your allowance.
