I followed some info to try and get a usb to ps2 converter working on my pc as teh controls were not working properly. I was told :

Start-> Run-> Regedit-> HKLM-> System-> CurrentControlSet-> Control-> Media Properties-> Joystick-> OEM-> VID_0B43&PID_0003

And delete the VID_0B43&PID_0003

I have done this and now i cant load up the game. Is there a way to get this file back?

Thanks

Perhaps removing the joystick from the Control Panel then re-adding it - might do it? Always export any keys you delete to a .reg file first just incase things like this happen :) (power of hind sight, I know ;)).

I cant seem to uninstall it. When i go to game controllers and remove it there it says to use the device manager, but i cant see the controller there.

It is plugged into a usb port. I can't see it anywhere.

Restore the backup of the registry you made before making any changes ... you do have a backup?

:rolleyes:

just reinstall using the EMS software

.

Perhaps to be safe, do a System Restore to a point just before this. There are often restore points done every time you install anything as well as every day, so you probably won't lose anything :)

I didnt back a back up lol EMS software?

I have a restore point for yesterday, so i will have to use it as a last resort.

Tip do NOT delete anything your not sure of;)

True, but i knew it had something to do with the controller settings. I knew before hand about regedit and that you should always back up if you are gonna make changes to it, i don't normally go into regedit anyway.

Do as Ian has suggested Restore it to a point before you deleted the file;) you can always undo the restore:thumb:

Restored it back to yesterday and the file is back but i still cant load up the game, i get an encountered a problem message.

No idea why its not loading.
