Hi,

I had an application configured to be distributed by GP.

We no longer use such app so I deleted it from The GPO.

Some PCs still try to install this app although is not
there any more. The problems is that it goes through a
bunch of error messages until it finally lets folks get
through. Any Idea how to clean this up.

Thanks

AJ,

How did you 'delete it' from the GPO?

The way that you should have done it is to simply remove the link to the OU
in question. If you simply removed the link and deleted the GPO then the
client computer account objects ( did you configure this on the user
configuration side or the computer configuration side? I am going to assume
for this post that you did it on the computer configuration side ) that are
located in the OU to which the GPO was linked are not receiving any sort of
notification that the link to the GPO has been removed. It is simply not
there anymore. Had you first simply removed the link ( and I am making a
guess here ) at the next reboot the computer account objects would have been
given the notification that the link was removed and would no longer try to
install something that is not there.

HTH,

Cary
