Help anyone. A colleague has run my anti-virus and
deleted my pst file. I have managed to retrieve the file
(I think) but it was not recognised in Outlook. I ran the
scanpst.exe to repair the file and Outlook opened fine,
but there is no data!!!

The file is 1.6 GB in size so there must be something in
there. Can anyone please help.

Thank you

The file size doesn't indicate that there is something in it. To get an
overview of whether there is something in it rightclick the root folder
(probably Outlook Today) -> Properties-> button Folder size. If it shows
empty as well then there is nothing in it and you'll need to restore from
back-up

Tips of the month:
-Save Embedded Pictures in Their Original Format
-Create an Office XP CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 3

If this was deleted by the AV software it may have 'packed' it before putting it in quarantine - My AV scanner (Kaspersky) converts it to an internal format so it knows not to pick it up next time for instance - Before giving up hope look at the quarantine options of the AV and see if there is an unpack/recover utility

If not - re-consider you friendship
