deleted program

I've deleted a program using the "Add/Delete" feature in Control Panel...I've
searched for the program after and it's not there..BUT it still is listed on
my Control Panel list...how do I remove the name...it also still lists the
approx. size of file. I'm running WinXP

Thanks Don.....went to kellys-korner...bookmarked it....But didn't help.
Went into regedit....and looked for name it's not there, but when I go to
Control Panel , and to Add/Remove, it's still listed. Obviously, it's gone,
but still the listing bothers me...why won't it go away ?

If it is listed in Add/Remove then it should be listed in the Registry
under the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Did you look at all entries under that key?

Alan...yes, searched them all...it's NOT listed

Don...downloaded that Add/Remove Pro...installed it and was then able to
remove listing. I have a question about that program....The "Finder" shows
something
as "non-Existent" even though its an active program on my computer.....also
"Backup" does not record the ones I removed...so can't restore them if
need-be...
