I have stopped scanning incoming and outgoing mails with Norton, but I'm
afraid to delete it before I restore my emails prior to May 10. I tried
system restore but that just made matters worse and eliminated the mails
totally. When I go to *.db* as someone recommended, the files seem to be
there dbx files - but I can't recall them.
Oh dear - I'm not computer savvy and all the websites I'm being sent to
don't solve the problem (or at least from what I can understand of them).
I will definitely install AVG once I can find my email files - but can't
risk eliminating any program for fear of making things worse and permanently
lose the files.
Thanks. Karen Alvarez

There is no risk of losing any data by simply uninstalling Norton.
It's a win-win.

Hi Gary -
Have you got a solution to help me recuperate my emails? I'd really rather
concentrate on getting them back and then I'll uninstall Norton and go to the
other one - sorry for my hesitancy but those mails are really important to me
which is why they were still there and not deleted. In fact, do you have a
phone number where I can call you?

No procedure. As I told you before, all I can think of is for you to
use Windows Explorer to look around the Local Folders directory.

Sorry, I don't do private consulting. I'm retired. :-)

Backup your messages as indicated here: www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#wm Its
important to do regardless of what other software is on your computer as
your hard drive could fail and all would be lost. This happens -- hard
drives fail.
