I keep getting duplicate mapped drives from H: through Z:. I can go
into the registry,

[Windows 2000]
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MountPoints\

delete the offending drives, reboot the machine and verify that they
don't show back up. However, given enough time (a day?), they all
show back up again. BTW, this is a Windows 2000 network setup as a
domain.

Is the server (Windows 2000 Server) forcing the client to put them
back in? Or is the server not allowing the client to change it's
registry? Would an application put them back in?

Any ideas? I'd greatly appreciate any help on this.

P.S. I tried posting in microsoft.public.win2000.registry but did
not get any responses. Thought I'd try here next.

What version of Office is on this workstation - do you have FindFast
running? That used to be the most common culprit for this.

Office 2002 is on the workstation. I'll check to see if FindFast is
running. Thanks for pointing this issue out. I did some google
searches and now have a lot more information to go off of. I'll
look into it tonight.

Thanks again!

Actually, it was Office 2000. I looked for FindFast in the Control
Panel and the Startup folder and didn't find it. Where else should
I look for FindFast? Any other ideas in case it's not FindFast?

Try to get your hands on a copy of msconfig.exe from a WinXP PC (copy it to
%systemroot%\system32\) and see if it's listed in the startup tab in there.
Any other ideas in case it's not FindFast?

I've seen other culprits but can't remember them now.
