A user has full control to the directory on the server,
deleted all files in the folder. A couple seconds later,
this one file pops back up. You delete the file, its
gone then pops back up again in the window - will not
permanently delete.

WinXP pro to a Win2K server

Any ideas? Im sure I can go onto the server, and get it
to delete but this has happened before and not sure what
is causing it.

Let me know. Thanks!

Dave

P.S. i also am getting random issues with files being
locked when nobody is in the file, or maybe after you
save the document then try to save again a couple minutes
later

Dave,
I'm having similar problems. I've checked, sharing, NTFS
security, turned off simple file sharing, and others.
Check out KB article 822227, which seems relevant to the
random file locks. I'm going to try the workaround
tomorrow. Let me know if you find another fix.

XPPro on a W2K server as well.

Dave,
The actual answer is in Carrie Garth's reply to "Locked
Files", posted below. I used the workaround of disabling
SMB, and the problem is gone (thanks Carrie!).
