Can anyone shed light on this strange behaviour of Win2k?
I'm running a Win2k workstation on a 100BaseT network controlled by a
Win2k3 server, and it has worked fine (well, almost) for almost a year.
In the last month, I've had problems with obsolete shortcuts and files
on my desktop that I deleted. When the workstation and network are
re-booted (which happens on a daily basis to conserve power overnight),
the deleted items re-appear on the workstation's desktop.
I've tried permanently deleting the items from the wastebasket, and
going into C:\Documents and Settings to ensure the files have been
deleted from the desktop - which they have. But to no avail. The little
blighters keep coming back!
Any ideas?
