deleted calendar information, now can't synchronize info into it

I use a 3rd party app for appointments then would synch to outlook so I could
synch with Palm/Treo. Whenever I made changes to existing info in 3rd party
app (like corrected spellling of name, something minor) it would not update
or write over what was already in outlook when synching so I deleted all the
info in my outlook calendar and attempted to re-synch everything, thinking it
was now blank so all information should just synch over as if new. Now the
snych doesn't work, doesn't bring anything over from from 3rd party app into
outlook at all, but does go from outlook to 3rd party app. I get no error
messages, gives message that it is synchronizing, but info doesn't show up in
outlook calenar.
 
is that deleted info in your deleted items folder or maybe in a backup?
I'm not failiar with the software you are using but maybe a new one-way
synch to a new Outlook profile with a new PST will work. If it does then you
could open the new PST from your existing profile and copy the datq over.
 
I deleted all calendar entries because when I would make an update in our
company's application then synch it to Outlook 2003, changes would not be
made, but new entries would appear. Since I don't enter info directly into
Outlook, I just do the synch to get info into it I figured I would just
delete all the entries and resynch like its an empty calendar. I tried
creating a new calendar (2nd one) but I don't get an option to choose which
calendar to synch with so that doesn't work. Its like Outlook thinks the
data is already there.

Nothing was in my deleted files afterwards, nor did I create a backup
because I wanted everything gone to be able to synch clean. When I was
deleting all the calendar entries I did ask to confirm because the data being
deleted would be unrecoverable unless I had a backup. I don't want to
recover them, just be able to resynch.

How do I create a new Outlook profile? Is that the same as creating a new
calendar?

How do you sync it?
Since I don't enter

Why do you say that Outlook "thinks the data is already there"? Exactly
what happens?

Sounds like you performed a permanent delete, or otherwise Outlook would not
have presented that "are you sure" dialogue.

No, it's not the same. Creating a new mail profile allows you to
reestablish the relationships between Outlook, the send/receive settings,
the data in the folders, the account information, various pane settings, and
other settings. Creating a new folder is as simple as File>New>Folder and
it's done in the existing mail profile (because you must be running Outlook
to sdo it), or it could mean starting with a new data file where all your
folders reside, unless you're using Exchange as the folder repository. The
only way to create a new default calendar folder is to have the Exchange
admin create a new mailbox (if you're using Exchange) or to create a new
data file (if you're using a PST) and making that new file the delivery
location.

the calendar (that was previously synched and deleted) does not. The initial
problem was that when synching the existing data in the Calendar would not be
overwritten with any updates that might have been made in the 3rd party
calendar. We had hoped by deleting all of the outlook calendar info it would
treat all information in a synch as new information, but it doesn't, just
pulls in the new stuff since the last synch. The synch settings are set to
synch "all activities" and "all dates" so we're not limiting/filtering any
data.

Thanks for your assistance. I will try creating a new profile, PST,
whatever needs to be done. I even tried reinstalling Outlook (2003) but it
did not seem to make a difference.

Synching is totally up to your sync software; Outlook takes no part in it,
other than to hold the data. If a new mail profile doesn't help, ask in a
Palm forum.
