deleted browser helpers-need back!

I did a scan and foolishly deleted two browser helpers found with the
advanced tools section( said they were partial remnants)-Now a start up will
not allow any programs to be opened, nor the sytem tray to be
accessed-clicking on a program does nothing, while the cursor is"busy" when
hovered over the tray. I can't get to Anitspyware to undo changes, if that is
possible at all. Can someone suggest a course of action?

I also forgot to mention-system restore has not been functional for a while-I
get a message after its finished that it was "unable to restore"-I also can
not get to my programs anyway.

Hey Matt

Do you know what the BHO's are for ? With BHO's being IE plugins its
difficult to say why its caused so much instability on your pc, Maybe worth
running a alternative Spyware scanner such as Ewido to make sure there isnt
any malware problems on your system then if you can let us know what the
BHO's relate to we can look into ways at replacing the registry entries,

Andy, thanks for the reply. After restarting a couple of times with no
response from the desktop ,I re-booted in safe mode-logged off and
re-booted-surprise -all was well! Got into Antispyware and found I didn't
just block them, as I should have, but deleted them permanently. Thanks for
your tip about Ewido-my System restore is still not funtioning, maybe
something AS missed is causing that too!

Hi Matt

It cannot do any harm to give Ewido a try , It shows as a 14day trial but
works fine after that expires, It just stops the background guard and auto
updates but you can still update it manually after it expires and run the
scanner to remove malware. Regarding your BHO's, MS Antispyware has only
removed the registry values stored in the BrowserHelperObjects key and doesnt
remove any files so its easy to replace them if you know what programs they
relate to, It would also help to know what version of Windows your running to
post a regfix that will put them back. The alternative would be to reinstall
the programs as that will add the BHO entries back to your system.

Thanks for the tips-running XP home- I'm going to try the Ewido. Should have
paid more attention to the files!
