Hi,
You can't delete the admin account, as at least one must remain on the
system. By default, it is hidden once you create user accounts. In WinXP
Pro, you can hit ctrl+alt+delete at the logon screen to access the older
style logon screen and access the admin account. For WinXP Home, you need to
restart in Safe mode by hitting F8 at boot.
If you actually deleted an account with files you want to retrieve, you
would want to use an undelete utility. These are commonly available for
free, and work on the premise that the space the file formerly occupied has
not been overwritten with new data yet. Once that has occured, recovery
requires more extensive (and expensive) work with dedicated forensic tools
by someone who knows what they are doing.
This one here works quite well for basic file recovery:

the documents I had on this PC seem to have been deleted. Can they be
retrieved? Please help.
