Delete version of IE

I recently tried the IE7 program and found because it was
a browser only I could not use links in my Outlook. I
deleted IE7 using add/remove programs and tried to
install version 6 from my ACT cd that I purchased. I am
getting an error stating that a more current version is
already install and the installation cancels. I have
deleted all folder that I could find and removed IE down
to version 4.7, but still cannot install 6. Is there a
place in the registry that I can manually remove
the "version number" or is there a way to force XP to
install a lower version?

I don't know where you got IE 7 from since Microsoft has
not released it. You have corrupted your system and need
to perform a "Repair Install".
