Delete User Accounts

I have had XP for a year and when I would turn on the computer it would go straight to the desktop. I jsut loaded drivers for an HP photosmart camera and also an HP psc 1300 officejet printer. Now when I start the computer it asks for a user and a password. I am th only one using the computer and I don't want this screen. I want the computer to start and go straight to the desktop. What happened and how do I get back to the old way - no user accounts.

Start, Run, Control Userpasswords2, select the default USERNAME/PASSWORD to
logon with and uncheck the "Users must enter a user name and password to use
this computer" box.

I did that and then when I rebooted it ask for an Administrator Password and would not let me log-on. I then changed the selectrion to User and no password and it let me in. I really want to eliminate the entire Administrator and User function. There is only me and no one else so I dont need all that security.
