Delete Product Key

I want to delete the product key in one of my XP pc i am selling it & dont
have a cd for it, i was told u can delete it so when u boot it it goes back
to the 30 day till they enter a new key.

Where is the key stored? & what files to i delete (if any)

I dont want to reinstall either as I want to leave all the application
inctact.

Please Help!

You could use SysPrep - but if they are wise - they will format it and
install from scratch anyway.
After all - they don't know what all you did with it.

Wipe it and leave it with NO OS. Be sure to let them know that.

It being sold to friend, it all set need to delete the key is all

You want to force a friend to purchase a $100 key? Are you reusing the
OEM key intended for that machine, or is it not an OEM install? You
possibly don't have the CD because there's a separate partition for
reinstalling.

Just add a user named "Owner", then remove your username; let the
purchaser have the software etc., that is installed on the machine.
Forgive me if I have missed a valid point, but I don't see a need to
remove the key.

What is the make and model of the PC? Does it have a Certificate of
Authenticity sticker on it? What operating system originally came with
it? At any point, was this upgraded to another operating system?
