Delete offline content

I can empty the TIF with no problem as long as I do not check the box
to also delete offline content. When that box is checked, everything
stalls and eventually I get a message that IE is non-responsive and I
have to end the task. What could be causing this and how can I fix
it? Is there a special place where off-line content is stored? I'm
not sure I even have any.
Thanks
Anne

Sorry, I forgot that. I'm running WinXP Pro, SP1 on a Toshiba
Sattelite 1410.
