How can I delete a network and start over?
============================================
If this is a broadband Internet connection that is always on,
first physically disconnect from the Internet.
Boot to safe mode as an administrator type account.
Start > Run > type in: devmgmt.msc and press the <Enter> key.
Expand Network Adapters and uinstall any network adapters.
Don't bother with any that have "miniport" in their description.
Close out of Device Manager
Restart to Normal mode.
If need be, supply the XP driver for the network adapters
that are detected, or just let Windows install them automatically
if it can.
Go to Control Panel | Network Connections
If you see something like "Local Area Connection2",
you can rename it to just "Local Area Connection" and start
your network configuration anew.
Be sure to enable the XP ICF unless you are using a third
party firewall program before physically connecting to the
Inernet again.
