In Explorer or perhaps some other way I am trying to delete multiple
subdirectories. But I cannot. I can only select one at a time. How do you
delete or select for deletion multiple subdirectories?

Thanks

How do you delete or select for deletion multiple subdirectories?

In Windows Explorer?

If they are sequential:
Click (left mouse button when I say click - on a default setup) to highlight
the first or last in the list.
Hold down SHIFT and click to select the last or first in the list.
Let go of SHIFT and press DELETE.
(Or keep holding down SHIFT and bypass it all going to the Recycle Bin.)

If they are not sequential:
Click to highlight the first selection.
Hold down the CTRL key.
Click on each subsequent selection.
When you are done selecting, let go of CTRL and press DELETE.
(You can also hold down SHIFT instead at this point and bypass the recycle
bin when you press DELETE.)

If you want to slect everything within a given directory....
Open said directory in Windows Explorer.
Press CTRL+A to select everything.
Press DELETE or can also hold down SHIFT instead at this point and bypass
the recycle bin when you press DELETE.

Hope that is what you needed - let us know!

You don't explain what happens when you try to select/delete them, so I'll
just offer the method I use. Click on the 1st folder, hold down the shift
key & select the last (for sequential folders). Once they are highlighted,
hit the Delete button. To select out of sequence folders, hold down the
Ctrl key instead of shift.

Sorry for doubling up, SS......your reply to the OP wasn't on my server when
I replied.

Select the next higher folder in windows Explorer left hand pane, and then
use the right hand pane to highlight and delete the ones you want.

You can use the Ctrl, Shift keys (as Shenan and Carol said) OR :

Right click Recycle Bin,
Properties,
Untick "Display delete confirmation dialog box"
AND Uncheck "Do not move files to recycle .....",
Click OK,
Now, you can just highlight the folders in explorer and press delete. When you are
done, empty the recycle bin.
