I recently found a program called "Dameware" to be installed without
users knowledge on our W2K PC. Obviously, this program is part of the
programs that automatically starts upon system startup. I remember that
under W98, there was a program called msconfig in which I could modify
the list of startup programs. Can someone tell me how this works under
Win2K? How can I get rid of Dameware (it cannot just be deleted because
it claims to be in use).

Thanks,
Martin

Hello,

This utility is a clone of msconfig for Win2K
http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml

Or just go to regedit then expand to :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio
n\Run\, and
HKEY_Current_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
\Run\
It will be listed under one of those two, find it and
remove the registry value for it.
