Delete Key doesn't work with autocomplete entries

I am no longer able to delete address entries when autocomplete displays a
list. I arrow down to the entrythat I want to delete and hit the delete key
but the entry will not delete. If I use the backspace key it exits the list
and returns the cursor tothe addres field. I realize that I could delete the
NK file or turn the autocomplete feature off but I want to be able to use an
edited autocomplete function. I have been using OfficeXP for 3 1/2 years and
it is only recently that this problem ocurred. My Outlookis2003.

Never been reported.
See if you can think of the steps that produced this problem.

I can not think of anything that I may or may not have done to create this.
I have run detect and repair but it didn't fix the problem. Also, I have
moved the NK file so that a new one was created but the problem exists with
the new entries too. The delete key works in all other applications.

Well this is a first.
But since NK2 files rarely if ever get corrupted and profiles commonly do,
try creating a new profile.

I made a back-up of the original and burned it to a cd and deleted all
profiles and pst files and created a new profile so all Outlook data was new.
I entered 2 email addresses with the first 3 letters the same to create a
drop down list. The problem still exists, they will not delete. Unless
there are any other suggestions I will uninstall/reinstall Outlook over the
weekend and let you know the result.

Uninstall/reinstall solves nothing.
Try Detect and Repair instead.
The PST file is not in play here.

Thanks for the suggestion. Per my earlier emial, I had run detect and repair
and it didn't fix the problem. I just ran it again however this time I
selected the " ....Restore Defaults" settings. This resolved the problem.
