In Excel 2007 I mistakenly added a header. How do I get rid of it? In 2003
it was only a "right click" away.

You question titles says header AND footer, but you mention only header.

By 'header' I'm assuming you mean freeze panes? It's on the View tab on the
ribbon. You can also get to it by pressing Alt-W, then F. If you already
have pnes frozen, you will see the option to Unfreeze panes

Thanks Duke,
I really did mean "headers as well as footers". I accidentally created a
header on the Insert tab on the ribbon. It then took me to the headers
design ribbon. I don't see any place to delete the entire header. It is my
preference to use freeze paines. The same syntax exists for footers, so
there is a similar issue with deleting footers.

If you can see the Header on-screen and it DOES NOT read "Click to add
header" then it doesn't really exist and it's simply that you are in Page
Layout mode. You can get back to normal mode by clicking on the little icons
in the bottom right corner, just to the left of the View Zoom slider

If you can actually see the header you can either click on it to activate it
and delete the text or go back to the Header & Footer button and then delete
the text. Then use the steps described above to get back to Normal mode
