delete cd files

I have burned duplicate picture files on my cd & want to
delete them. when I try, I'm told they are read only and
can't be deleted. I try to remove the "read only" check
mark in the file properties but it doesn't work; when I
open the file again, it shows "read only"
How can I delete a CD file?

If the CD burning session has been finalized then you would not be able to
remove the duplicates from the CD.

Unless, of course, the OP is using a CD-RW, in which case
the contents of the disk may be copied to the hard drive,
at which point the file(s) may be deleted and burned back
to the CD, or unless the OP wants to use packet writing
software, which will allow files to be selectively deleted.
