Is there a way to put a delete button on the taskbars? I hate having to pull
drop down menu every time I want to delete something. And I don't like using
the keyboard if I'm already using the mouse.
Thanks.

There may be some utility out there that can do this, but I have not seen
one.

I normally just use the right click pop-up menu to delete things, if I don't
want to reach for the keyboard.

Hi, Kathy
If there were a delete button was on the taskbar, what would you want to be
deleted when you click it? How would the logic behind the button know what
you want to be deleted?

Use the right mouse button and chose delete.

You all know what I mean - XP has the little red X on the taskbar. It's just
gone now in Vista. Why?

The 'close' button? Red X -upper right of title bar in most windows?
It is there on my Vista Home Premium.

The task bar is the long horizontal bar at the bottom of the screen, never
seen a red X in there XP or Vista.

The Red X is the universal close Button in all MS software. Normally top
left corner.

Why on earth would there be one in the Taskbar?

Can't anyone read what the question was? It wasn't about the red x in the upper right corner to close the window. In windows 2000 and windows xp, there was an x icon on the windows explorer tool bar. Using that, you could delete the currently selected file by simply clicking on the x. You didn't have to right click and all that crap. When are the idiots at M$ going to quit screwing things up and leave well enough alone.

As you can probably tell, not having the "delete" x available in vista kinda ticks me off also.

The "delete" X icon is NOT the close window X. Read the question

Richard Miller,

First - why did you insist on changing the subject line of the original
posting? Extremely bad form, IMHO.

Second - why did you respond to a posting that originally ended in early
August of 2007? Seems a bit of a strange thing to do.

I have to agree with Peter Foldes on this. This only seems to occur when
some external forum (egghead in this cases) synchs up and someone reads
parts of it instead of all of it and decided to comment. Amazingly - this
person responded TWICE to the same old message and ... they don't even
bother to give an answer. They just complain.

Guess someone might want a viable answer?

This:

Combined with this:
FileTools plugin pack at http://qttabbar.wikidot.com/plugins

Would give the OP (from 2.5 years ago) and the late responder what they
desire.

Google - it works wonders for those willing to put in the small bit of
effort for what they actually want in Windows Vista.

Search using Google!

Dear Richard,
When you reply to a post in

http://forums.techarena.in
or
http://www.eggheadcafe.com
Or Other Website.

It shows up as a broken thread on a Microsoft Public newsgroup
and usually it's old outdated.

These sites.
http://www.eggheadcafe.com
http://forums.techarena.in/
Copies Posts from Microsoft Break/Fix SBS newsgroup.

So Any responding or posting means that 99% of the world will not know what
you are responding to.

(Since it will be a broken thread on the original source.)

In your current post we may have no reference to what you are talking about.
and or it may be too old to even give use proper respect.

If you avoid Techarena.in Or eggheadcafe.com Forum and post directly to the
Microsoft
newsgroup you will benefit from threads not getting broken.
And a lot of misunderstanding.

You can either use a NNTP News Reader (Example Outlook Express)
And set it up with:

and change your name.

Please post with a NEW Descriptive Topic of what the issue is

or there are no more replies. (Do not start a new thread every question on

To Search for issues in the past the easiest way is to Google them.

This has way more information than that website will ever have and help you

Guys, it doesn't matter - I sometimes find something interesting or

You're not alone, actually. Others who have a similar or identical issue
could be benefited from the solution, not necessary limited to the original
poster.

It's better late than never, and newsgroups isn't exactly the center of the
world :)

I got tired of scrolling down to find your post!
