I am reposting w/ a better (hopefully) explanation.

Outlook 2000
I am looking for an addin (or other solution) that will let me delete
attachments from the currently selected email or any number of emails
selected in the list pane W/O actually having to open the emails.

Outlook does not show me an attachment icon in the Preview Pane, thus
there is no way to delete the attachment like you can after opening
the email w/ Right-Clk Remove.

I do all my work in the preview pane and only 'open' the email because
of this delete attachment issue.

The free bulk processing addins I have found, copy the attachments to
the file system AND add a link at the top of the email pointing to the
new location of the attachment. I don't want the link text messing up
the email. I just want the attachment to be deleted. They also open
a dialog so you can set all the options you want. This defeats the
purpose of quickly deleting the attachment. I don't need to set
options for bulk processing each time, just one time at most.

I would even settle for a tool bar button/macro that will delete the
attachment(s) of the currently selected email (w/o actually opening
the email).

The Outlook file menu lets you "save Attachments' on the currently
selected email (w/o opening it), but oddly does not provide a delete
option.

If you have not already found a tool for removing attachments try Google
search for "Attachmentmaster.exe". This program will let you delete or save
attachments to e-mails in batch mode. Pretty basic but can be run on your
current and archive folders to reduce the size of the pst.
